| The Community Development Department provides coordination of the area's development resources and efforts. Those efforts are aimed at the following community development goals: recruitment of new business and industry, retention and expansion of existing business industry, housing, jobs and planning and zoning coordination. This position replaces the EDA's Director position but remains as chief staff person to the EDA. The Community Development Director works closely with several local development organizations including the Economic Development Authority, Montevideo Industrial Development Corporation, and The Montevideo Community Development Corporation and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. |
