Mission Statement – The Mission of the Montevideo Industrial Development Corporation is to stimulate economic growth and the quality of life in the Montevideo area by promoting the creation of enhanced job opportunities. The MIDC will assist existing and potential employers by investing in real estate and coordinating public and private efforts to provide comprehensive and innovative economic development resources.
Goal – The Goal of the Montevideo Industrial Development Corporation is to assist in creating 25 net new jobs each year in existing or new industries.
MIDC and Partners have been involved in:
Purchase of 14 tracts of land totaling more than 270 acres
Construction of 16 new buildings totaling over 365,000 square feet
More than 20 remodeling, expansion and refinancing projects
Acquisition, remodeling, and financing of 6 existing buildings
Assistance with regulatory, environmental, training, housing, day care, transportation, vendor access and other issues
Approximately 1600 people are directly employed as a result of these activities

Broad Based Community Support
More than 400 people have invested in 3 separate fund drives and 1 refinancing
County, City and Sparta Township have provided direct and indirect support
Infrastructure, Financing options, Tax Increment, Enterprise Zone, Etc.
