Community Development Department

The Community Development Department was created in 2008 and provides coordination of the area's development resources and efforts. Those efforts are aimed at the following community development goals: recruitment of new business and industry, retention and expansion of existing business industry, housing and jobs. In 2019, the Montevideo Economic Development Authority (EDA) contracted with Community Economic Development Associates (CEDA) to provide a full-time community development director to Montevideo.  This position is the chief staff person to the EDA.
 
The Community Development Director works closely with several local development organizations including the Economic Development Authority, Montevideo Industrial Development Corporation, Montevideo Community Development Corporation and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
